Twenty primary schools in Kakamega have been selected for a scheme that equips learners with nutrition skills. The “Nestle for Healthier Kids” plan is run by Nestle Kenya and the Rural Outreach Programme. Nestle Kenya director of regulatory and cooperative affairs James Ojiambo said the programme will establish kitchen gardens in the schools and train children on healthy foods and products.
