A largely second string Homeboyz RFC squad won the inaugural Thika 10’s rugby tournament with a 17-0 defeat of Blak Blad in the Main Cup final.

Kenya Harlequins registered a similar score-line against University of Nairobi’s Mean Machine to claim the Bowl competition.

The hosts were eliminated in the semi-final by Blak Blad while the champions breezed past Impala Saracens to set up a thrilling final at Thika Municipal Stadium.

The two-day tournament received a KES 500,000 sponsorship from the Kiambu county government on the eve of kick-off. Thika RFC organised the tourney to raise money for the upcoming Kenya Cup season.
