Keep off Tom Mboya statute, Gor Mahia fans warned

Gor Mahia fans on top of the Tom Mboya statute

The Government has protested to Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia over the damage of the Tom Mboya statue by its fans.

Sports Cabinet Secretary Hassan Wario said they had written to Gor to warn their fans against further damage of the statue which is a monument of a Kenyan hero which cost the government huge sums of money to construct.

“On many occasions, Gor Mahia fans have been damaging the statue after their top flight league fixtures and so we want the club to act by restraining their fans or even identifying them for possible arrest and prosecution for malicious damage,” said Dr. Wario.
