PROPOSED EAC CENTRE FOR AVIATION MEDICINE PROJECT

The East African Community Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency (CASSOA) has commenced the construction of the region’s Centre for Aviation Medicine (CAM). The facility, which will help standardize and certify medical assessment of aviation personnel in the EAC Community, will be headquarted in Kenya, adjacent to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) headquarters.

During the handover of the site to the contractors, KCAA Director General, Capt. Gilbert Kibe, the current Chairperson of CASSOA said the CAM will analyse medical data received from respective civil aviation authorities across the EAC region with a view to standardize medical requirements for aviation personnel.
