Contractors of Kenya’s flagship infrastructure project Standard Gauge Railway have embarked on an initiative to improve lives of people residing close to where mombasa-Malaba railway is passing.
Under the initiative dubbed Imarika na SGR, those contractors are helping communities near the railway line to solve some of their social economic challenges including access to water, education and health.
Last Saturday, they partnered with the Rotary Club of Machakos to offer free medical check up for Suswa residents in Kajiado County.
The camp provided a wide range of medical services to the residents in the region who do not have access to medical services in the remote Oloitip area.
”We expect that such medical camps will benefit over 1000 in the area”.
The initiative is is part of the ongoing CCCC corporate social responsibility activities under the Imarika na SGR campaign.
CCC is also prioritising locals youths for job in the ongoing construction.
