DPPs, AGs from 32 countries converge in Mombasa

Kenya is hosting Directors of Public Prosecutions from 32 countries.

The 4th General Conference of African, the Indian Ocean and the East Africa Association Prosecutors, 2022 underway in Mombasa brings together over 200 delegates.

The Directors of Public Prosecutions, Attorney Generals, Prosecutors and Non-State actors have convened to discuss the country’s experiences and challenges in responding to emerging crimes and transnational organized crimes in Africa.

According to the Office of The Director Of Public Prosecutions, the conference is aimed at enhancing collaboration and improving the efficiency of African states to effectively combat criminal groups who operate in a highly globalized and technologically advanced world.

Countries will share experiences and best practices in Crypto-Currency and Money Laundering, Environmental Crime and Asset Recovery.

The theme is Effective Mechanisms to Respond to Emerging Crimes and Transnational Organized Crime in Africa. Countries will share experiences and best practices on:
1. Crypto-Currency & Money Laundering
2. Environmental Crime
3. Asset Recovery
